Gamma Xi Scholars Mentorship Program

In response to this social, political and economic problems affecting African American community, the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, Gamma Xi Chapter at UCLA propose the formation of a high school young men group at Washington High School that is mentored by the chapter. The organization would be a consolidation of its 3 national programs as tool for progressive youth empowerment.  Gamma Xi chapter commits itself to the scholars program to teach and mentor  young men "how to organize, plan, and execute a nonprofit, community service based organization and promote academic excellence to  develop them into effective servant leaders and college bound young men". The founding principals are initiative, accountability, dedication, and love for all mankind. This youth group is to develop throughout the year as a self-sufficient organization that will, with patient and steadfast dedication, affect all of the Los Angeles County and eventually receive national recognition for  educational advancement, community service, and economic stability.

Aims: To become academically competitive for university. To prepare to take on the role of manhood in our community. To stimulate the social, academic, and economic stability of the community.
